Viele Leute haben mich in den letzten Tagen gefragt, was ich in meinem Praktikum machen werde. Es ist eine berechtigte Frage. Ins Detail weiss ich es auch noch nicht, jedoch gibt es die Hauptaufgaben die schon festgelegt sind. Mein Praktikum wird einem neuem Gemeindebau in Barão de Grajaú, MA zugunsten kommen. Eine der Hauptaufgaben wird die Jugendarbeit sein. Ich erhoffe mir, dass durch Sport eine Arbeit entstehen kann, die die Jugendlichen erreichen kann. Also Sport ist ein grosser Teil meiner Arbeit, Hausbesuche wird sehr wahrscheinlich eine andere Arbeit sein. Und zum Schluss ist noch die "moderne" Kommunikation auf der Liste, d.h. ich sollte durch das Internet das Projekt und weitere Informationen publik machen. All das andere das noch auf mich wartet werde ich erfahren, wenn ich dort bin.

Lot of people were asking me in the last few days what I'm going to be serving as in my internship. It is a fair question. I can't tell you into all the details what I'm going to do, but there are some main tasks that I'll be doing. First of all, I'll be serving in a town called Barão de Grajaú, MA. One of the main things will be working with youth. I hope that I can reach out to the youth of the town through sports. So sports will be a big thing. An other task would be house visitations and also to the "modern" communication for them. That means that I would have to use all the options that the internet has to offer to share the news about the project and what is going on. More details about my tasks I will get when I get there.

Switzerland

Meine Sommerzeit ist auch schon bald vorbei. Seit dem 26. Juli bin ich in der Schweiz. Ich hatte einen sehr anstrengenden Flug. Ich bin ja von Edmonton (CA) nach Chicago (USA) und dann nach Zürich geflogen. Als ich in Chicago ankam waren wir schon verspätet und ich hätte beinah mein Anschlussflug verpasst. Als ich dann im Swiss Flug war, fing dann das nächste Kapitel an. Es fing an als ich im Flugzeug wegen einer defekten Klimaanlage fast verschmolz und dass für den ganzen Flug. Also ich dann nach dem Abendbrot schlaffen wollte, konnte ich meine Sitzlehne nicht verschieben, da hinter mir ein Kindersitz war. Nach Flight Attendance war der Flug ausgebucht und sie konnten mich nicht irgendwo anders platzieren. Dies bedeutete das ich einen 9h Flug vor mir hatte mit 6 schreienden Kinder (zwei Mütter mit je 3 Kinder) hinter mir und einen Sitz im rechten Winkel. Ich war dann froh als wir dann schon in Zürich waren. Als ich dann am Flughafen ankam und auf mein Gepäck wartete, kam dies nicht an. Also das auch noch, verlorenes Gepäck. Nach ca. 3 Tagen ruf mich die Swiss an und informierte mich, dass sie mein Gepäck noch nicht gefunden haben. Zum Glück hatte ich am vorherigen Tag noch der United Airlines angerufen, welche mir bestätigt haben, dass sie mein Gepäck in Chicago der Swiss übergeben haben. So konnte ich der Swiss sagen, wo mein Gepäck is und ein Tag darauf hatte ich dann mein erstes Gepäckstück und am 5. Tag hatte ich mein zweites. Ich bin froh, dass ich nach 5 Tagen warten mein Gepäck bekommen habe und dies ohne dass etwas kaput ging.

Ja jetzt bin ich einwenig mehr als eine Woche in der Schweiz und geniesse es sehr. Ich muss sagen das nach zwei Jahre Ausland sich die Schweiz sehr verändert hat. Die Zeit die ich hier in der Schweiz habe will ich hauptsächlich gebrauchen um mich mit Leuten zu treffen und Kontakte aufzufrischen. Ich werde hauptsächlich in der Umgebung Sirnach - TG sein. Ich werde am 29. August die Schweiz wieder verlassen um nach Kanada zu fliegen. Dort werde ich dann am 3. September für mein Praktikum in Brasilien abfliegen. Zu meinem Praktikum in Brasilien werde ich zu einem anderem Zeitpunkt noch mehr informationen geben.

My summer break is all most over. Since July 26th I'm in Switzerland. I had a very exhausting flight. I left Canada from Edmonton and had my connection in Chicago (USA) to Zurich (Switzerland). When I arrived in Chicago we already were delayed and I nearly missed my connection to Switzerland. But when I got to the Swiss flight a whole new chapter of my trip started. It all started with a defect air condition through out the whole flight. I never was so hot in a airplane. After supper was served I wanted to go sleep, so I tried to put the seat back but it didn't work. I had a baby-seat behind me, which block me to put my seat back. So I called a flight attendance to figure out if we could change something, but that didn't work either because the baby-seat had to stay there and the whole plane was booked out and there was no other free seat in the plane. So now I had a 9h flight a head of me with 6 kids crying in my back (2 mothers with each 3 kids) a hot cabin and a seat that I couldn't put back so I could sleep. I was really happy when we got close to Switzerland. But when I landed in Zurich and went to pick up my baggages I realized that they didn't arrive. So I had that as well, two lost bags. After two days I called United Airline to see if they know where my stuff is and the confirmed me, that they handed my stuff over to Swiss Airlines. A day later Swiss calls me and they tell me that they couldn't find my stuff yet. Well, I could tell them where my stuff was and a day later they found the first piece. After five days waiting for my baggage I had them both back. I'm glad to have them both with me without any damage.
Now I'm a bit over one week back in Switzerland and I'm enjoying my time here. I have to say, that in my two years in Canada lot of stuff change here in Switzerland. The time that I have here in Switzerland I'll spend mostly to reconnect with friends and family. Most of my time I'll be in the area of Sirnach - TG. I'll be leaving Switzerland on August 29th. I'll be returning to Canada and I'll be there till September 3rd. On September 3rd I'll be leaving for my internship year with CLBI in Brazil. I'll post more information about my internship an other day.

Sommerpause / Summerbreak

Ja jetzt sind auch schon wieder einige Wochen seit dem letzten Blog vergangen. Meine drei Wochen am Bibel Camp sind schnell vorbei gegangen und ich hatte eine sehr schöne Zeit. Als ich das Camp verlies hatte ich gemischte Gefühle, da ich eigentlich sehr gern noch geblieben wäre und weiter gearbeitet hätte aber zur selben Zeit freute ich mich schon sehr auf mein nächstes Abendteur mit meinem Cousin. Die Zeit die ich mit meinem Cousin verbracht habe, war sehr schön. Wir sind wieder sehr viele Kilometer gefahren und haben viel von Kanada gesehen. In den langen fahrten hatten wir sehr gute Gespräche.
Die Woche die ich als Koch verbrachte ging sehr gut. Den Studenten hat es gefallen und mir machte es auch viel Spass, wobei ich auch noch vieles gelernt habe.
Am Sonntag war ja der 1. Juli und hier in Kanada ist das unser 1. August. Es war eine schöne Zeit die ich mit Freunden verbringen konnte. Am Abend gab es noch live Musik und später noch ein Feuerwerk. Dieser Tag hat die Vorfreude für den 1. August aufgeweckt.
Ja jetzt ist mein Bruder Micha hiermit mir und ich freue mich sehr um seine Gesellschaft. Wir haben einiges vor und wir freuen uns auf eine tolle Zeit zusammen.
Ja wenn alles nach Plan geht dann bin ich am 26. Juli in der Schweiz.
Was ich jetzt noch sagen kann ist, danke viel mal für deine Unterstützung und bis bald.
It's already been a few weeks since I posted my last blog. My three weeks at Bible Camp past by so fast. I really enjoyed my time there. When I left the Camp after the three weeks I had mixed feelings, because on one side I would loved to stayed longer and on the other side I was exited to meet up with my cousin and have a good time together. The time that I could spend with my cousin was a great and blessed time. We did a lot of miles driving through western Canada. Through out the long drivings we had, we had good conversation and a good time to catch up on stuff.
The week that I spend as a cook at CLBI was wonderful. I enjoyed to see all my fellow classmates and to spend time with them as well. I had lot of fun in the kitchen as well as I learned a lot.
On July 1st I could spend some time with friends from Camrose. In the evening we went to the fireworks, where we also had live music going on and lot of other stuff. It was a lot of fun and it made me exited for August 1st which is the Swiss national day.
Now my brother is here with me in Canada and I'm really exited for a good time with him. We have some traveling ahead but not as much as I did with my parents and my cousin. I'm really looking forward for a good time of fellowship with my brother.
So if everything goes like I planned it, I should be leaving Canada on the 25th of July for Switzerland.
